Right Brain Dominance in Happy Wives
/My husband is pretty brilliant. You could argue that that's a given since he was obviously smart enough to marry me, but that goes without saying. ;-)
The official title for what he does is "Internet Marketing" which is cyberspace code for "He works to get his clients onto the first page of the search engines, such as Google and Yahoo."
Again, I have to reiterate, he's brilliant at what he does. He was able to quit his day job in January and his clients are extremely satisfied with his services. More importantly, with all this client-love he receives, he manages to support me in the manner to which I've become accustomed, and that is saying something!
But here's the thing - he spends the majority of his time using his left brain and doing all those analytical/problem-solving left brain activities. He sits for long periods of time in front of his computer or on his computer while talking on the phone, organizing business websites or "optimizing." (I learned that term from sharing office/school/studio space with him and eavesdropping. I know you're impressed. =D)
Ironically, this man is married to me. I am the right-brained, creative, messy, artistic type. In fact, I'm not really sure my left brain is even functional most days, but that's not important right now....
In order to keep Mr. Left Brain in balance, I gave him the gift of art lessons. Let me first explain that he is already creative in his own right, it's just that the nature of his business means he uses his logical/sequential/rational hemisphere most of the time. And I just thought his left brain might benefit from an occasional break.
He's been enjoying his lessons and has graduated from sketching to shading to where he is today...
Impressive, isn't it? I'm so proud of him!
And with all this right brain exercise he's been getting, he seems to appreciate his artsy/creative wife just a little more.
And that makes me totally happy.
But then, I tend to be random and intuitive that way. =D
If you don't know if you are predominantly Left or Right Brained, go take this quiz.
If you decide to do it, please leave a comment and let me know how your brain works (if you don't mind sharing).

Okay, so I'm Right Brain Dominant, but can I just tell you that the two spelling errors in the table make me completely crazy? What is up with that? ;-)
(realize and tendency. See? I couldn't just leave it alone. =D)
